If you come by car, take the M3 motorway from Budapest and then M35. The toll can be paid at any of the motorway petrol stations. Take the first exit to Debrecen from M35 (Debrecen észak), and in the city follow the signs to Debreceni Egyetem. The drive takes about 2.5 hours. Please let us know if you wish to use the parking lots on campus.
IC (Intercity) and fast trains from Budapest to Debrecen leave from Budapest Keleti and Nyugati Pályaudvar (Eastern and Western Railway Stations) and also from Ferihegy Railway Station. You can buy your train ticket either at the railway stations or online. For online ticket purchase and train schedules, visit www.mavcsoport.hu/en. If you arrive at Budapest Liszt Ferenc Nemzetközi Repülőtér Terminal 2, Ferihegy Railway Station is accessible by bus 200E, or bus 900 by night. For the relevant timetables, please visit www.bkk.hu/en/timetables. Bus tickets can be purchased at the airport from newsagents or from ticket machines at the bus stops. It is also possible to purchase a ticket from the bus driver.
You can also take an airport transfer service from Budapest to Debrecen or back, for which we recommend the company Agora Transz-F’Air Kft., whose website is: https://www.agoratrans.hu/.
From Debrecen International Airport you can go directly to the city centre by the Airport Debrecen bus line (Airport 1-2), the time-table of which in most cases is aligned with the arrival and departure times of the planes.
You can check the timatable in the link below:

Take tram No. 1 from Nagyállomás [Railroad Station] to Egyetem [University] (the 12th stop). You can (pre-)purchase tickets at Nagyállomás or on board from the driver and validate them on the tram.
